URC Systems now offers structured financing pathways - PPAs and Lease Financing - that let businesses, institutions, and property developers go solar without capital expenditure, while locking in predictable energy costs from day one.
A solar lease is a rental arrangement. Rather than purchasing a solar system outright, your organisation leases it from a financing institution for a fixed monthly payment. Unlike a PPA - where you pay per kilowatt-hour generated - a lease charges a flat recurring fee regardless of how much energy the system produces. At the end of the lease term, you may have the option to renew, upgrade the system, or acquire ownership.
PPAs are ideal for organisations with large, consistent electricity consumption and the roof space or land area to host a meaningful solar installation. Medical centres, hotels, manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, and educational institutions are among the strongest candidates in the Ghanaian context.
A Power Purchase Agreement is a long-term contract between a host site - such as a hospital, factory, school, or commercial property — and URC Systems or its financing partner. Under a PPA, we design, install, own, and maintain the solar system on your premises. In return, you agree to purchase the electricity it generates at a fixed or pre-agreed tariff rate over the contract term, typically 10 to 25 years.
- Initial site and energy assessment
URC Systems conducts a no-obligation energy audit — reviewing your utility bills, load profile, roof or land suitability, and grid connection. We size a system matched to your actual consumption.
- Financial modelling and term sheet
We present a detailed financial model showing projected generation, savings versus grid, PPA tariff or lease payment schedule, and 20-year NPV analysis. A term sheet is prepared for your review.
- Financing partner and legal documentation
Our financing partners conduct their own due diligence on the site and organisation. PPA or lease agreements are drafted, reviewed by both parties' legal teams, and executed.
- Design, permitting, and installation
URC Systems manages all technical design, procurement of equipment (SolaX, Trina Solar, Chiko Solar), permitting, and civil and electrical installation works.
- Commissioning and ongoing monitoring
The system is commissioned, metered, and handed over operationally. URC Systems provides remote performance monitoring, scheduled maintenance, and a dedicated service contact for the contract term.
Both models eliminate the need for outright purchase, but they differ in structure, risk allocation, and financial treatment. The right choice depends on your organisation's size, energy profile, accounting requirements, and long-term property plans.
Energy-intensive facilities -> PPA
Fixed overhead preference -> Lease
Off-balance-sheet goal -> Operating Lease or PPA
Ownership aspiration -> Finance Lease
URC Systems works alongside your financier, CFO, and legal advisors to structure the arrangement that best fits your organisation. We provide the technical design, equipment supply, installation, and ongoing maintenance - regardless of which financing model is selected.
Both pathways are suitable for systems ranging from small commercial rooftop installations to large industrial and utility-scale deployments. URC's portfolio spans 5 kW residential systems all the way to 2.5 MW BESS-integrated solar facilities.
